Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find out about the scheduled events?
Check out the events tab on bfwww.org or if you’re a member, our Facebook page also has an events section.
Members must be logged in to Facebook to sign up for an event. The link from our website for event sign up will only work for active members.
Check back often; events are created by members at any time. A variety of events are planned for any day of the week.
Why must I attend 1 event every 6 months?
The Women Warriors of the Woods (WWW) is an in-person group to foster connections and friendships. Attending events makes you known and visible to others which we feel is important for building a rapport and trust while forming friendships.
I am not sure if I can attend an event, how do I select an interest?
Select “maybe” for that event. Several days before the event update your status to either “going” or “not going” to ensure the host is aware.
I am extremely busy and find it difficult to attend an event, what suggestions do you have?
We understand life can be super busy and “me time” limited.
Given that WWW is an in-person group, if you don’t have time now to participate then re-join when your schedule allows.
Most events are 1.5 – 2 hours, so hopefully when you re-join you will find new connections, make new friends, have fun and most importantly give yourself more “you time” with other amazing women.
I am hesitant to attend an event where I don’t know anyone, what do you suggest?
Check out “all members” in the group to see if there is someone familiar to you in our group. Reach out to them OR any Admin, Lead or Group Expert Member and ask if they’ll attend your first event with you.
We’re very welcoming group and we know you’ll be so happy after making your first event.
May I invite a non-member friend to an event?
WWW events are for members only; however, the following exceptions may be available:
Visiting friends or relatives from out-of-town that will attend an event with you
Potential New Member, such as a neighbor, friend, or relative who is interested in checking us out prior to requesting membership
To request an exception, please ask the event host. If she says yes, then bring your guest. Remember, we are a women-only group, so unless it’s a family event, your guest must be female.
What should I do if I have an event idea, yet cannot host at my home?
Create a “gauging interest” post on our Facebook main page and mention you will need a host location (co-host) Or create an event and host it at a venue versus at your home.
What can I do if a member has made me uncomfortable?
You can message or text Patricia or Tiffany (our co-directors) to privately discuss.
Patricia founded the group and takes all concerns seriously whether it’s a breach of privacy, safety, security or disrespectful behavior.
Can any member create posts or are posts mostly by group leaders?
Typically, leadership makes the most posts as this is not your typical social media page where anyone can post anything. We don’t want members to be overwhelmed by a lot of daily posts, thus Leadership monitors quantity.
However, our WWW Facebook group is a platform most often specific to engagement type posts and for events – gauging interest and creation so occasionally, members can foster engagement by posting something we can all relate to, is funny, and/or creates great conversations. Please avoid controversial topics.
I want to invite a friend to check out the group, what is the best way to explain our group or get information about our group to help them decide whether to join?
Refer them to our website bfwww.org
I have a friend in another state that may want to try something similar to our group where they live, how can I share information with them?
Refer them to our website bfwww.org for info about our group foundation and structure.
Patricia is always available as well; to answer questions, please reach out to her.
I’m interested in being featured in a “Member Spotlight”, where do I sign up for that and what are the qualifications to be selected?
Member Spotlights are for active members. Highlighting includes information about the member, their family, hobbies, career and/or their business. Highlights let other members learn more about you and your life.
One of our leaders each year manages Member Spotlights and will post periodically to solicit interest. OR you can contact them directly.
